Admission Requirements

The Chicago Institute of Hypnosis and Coaching (hereinafter referred to as the “Institute”) establishes the following minimum admission requirements to ensure academic quality, compliance with applicable regulations, and equitable access to educational programs.
1. General Provisions
1.1. These requirements apply to all individuals seeking admission to the Institute’s educational programs.
1.2. The Institute reserves the right to modify admission requirements in accordance with changes in applicable law, accreditation standards, or internal academic policies.
1.3. Updated versions of this document will be published on the Institute’s official website and will become effective upon publication.
2. Age Requirements
2.1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrollment.
2.2. This requirement ensures legal capacity to enter into a binding educational services agreement and complies with the standards of the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).
2.3. This condition is reflected in the enrollment agreement, academic catalog, and official website.
3. Educational Requirements
3.1. Applicants must have completed one of the following:
  • A high school diploma,
  • A General Educational Development (GED) certificate recognized in the State of Illinois,
  • An equivalent international credential evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation agency.
3.2. For international applicants:
  • Educational documents must be translated into English and notarized,
  • Credential evaluation must be conducted by a recognized agency (e.g., WES, ECE, or a NACES member organization).
3.3. A college or university degree is not required for general admission unless specified for certain advanced or professional programs.
4. Language Proficiency Requirements
4.1. Programs may be delivered in:
  • English
  • Russian
  • Ukrainian
4.2. For English-language programs, applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate sufficient language proficiency by meeting at least one of the following:
  • Submission of a written essay,
  • Successful completion of an oral interview,
  • Submission of a recognized test score (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).
4.3. A minimum recommended proficiency level is B2 (according to CEFR).
4.4. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the language of instruction.
5. Application and Enrollment Procedure
5.1. To be considered for admission, applicants must submit:
  • A completed application form (online or paper),
  • A government-issued photo ID (e.g., passport or driver’s license),
  • Documents verifying age and education,
  • A signed enrollment agreement,
  • Payment of the registration fee (if applicable).
5.2. Enrollment becomes official upon:
  • Review and acceptance of submitted documents,
  • Signature of the enrollment agreement by both the applicant and an authorized Institute representative,
  • Confirmation of eligibility under all applicable requirements.
5.3. The Institute reserves the right to deny admission if:
  • The applicant does not meet minimum requirements,
  • Documents are incomplete or fraudulent,
  • Other valid reasons exist in accordance with institutional policies and applicable laws.

7.1. Certain advanced or professional programs have additional admission criteria, including but not limited to:

Professional Coach Certification (ICF-aligned)

Prior foundational certification, completion of preparatory coursework

Professional Hypnosis Counselor Certification

Relevant experience, completion of introductory courses, skills verification

7.2. Specific requirements for each program are published in the academic catalog and on the Institute’s official website.
7.3. The Institute reserves the right to revise or supplement these program-specific requirements based on industry standards and regulatory developments.
